Practical and technical experience
He has studied Roofing and Cladding Techniques in the UK, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Germany and France and been involved in virtually all aspects of the industry, directly managing Estimating Departments, Drawing Offices, Technical Departments and has wide site experience.

He began his career training in 1968, working for 7 years with one of the world’s largest Roofing Companies, Robertson UK. During this time he was trained in Estimating, Drawing Office, Technical Support and was appointed as one of their Technical Representatives before moving to Export sales.

He was Technical Director of a roofing subcontractor and worked for them for 14 years in various roles.

Qualifications, testing and training
Fellow of the Institute of Roofing
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Roofing, and has completed NVQ Assessor Training.
Past Chairman of the MCRMA
He is the immediate past Chairman of the Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA), having served the maximum period of two terms in office.
Conferences and training
He has addressed several conferences for the MCRMA, Corus and other bodies, as well as in house training to some major Contractors and Surveying Practices.
Testing and research
He has been involved in the successful testing of Cladding Firewalls, structural tests and curtain walling test programmes and worked closely with the late Professor Alex Hardy, Professor of Building Science at Newcastle University, in the field of condensation in industrial roofs.
Expert witness
Arbitrations, adjudications and Court
He has acted as an expert in arbitrations, adjudications and in Court, which have included dilapidation claims and failures.

We do not undertake work involving slating, tiling, felt or asphalt roofs. Our specialism is therefore advising in relation to industrial roofing and cladding.
